Treeking Treez are back in stock - at least for a limited time.

As of 5-26-2020 we have about 20 in stock and another 40 tube sets on order. Some raw parts (carbon fiber mostly) are sourced overseas, but all construction and many parts are made right here in the USA (that means my craft room, shop, and kitchen).
Come check out the Tensa4 tensahedron stand and other hammock stands at http://www.TensaOutdoor.com and [email protected]

I only use 1 pole. Other end is tied to a tree. I weigh between 157 (today) and 165 a few months ago. The pole weighs (let me weigh it) 25 oz.. and is 29.5 " long. Nothing on a motorcycle. On the back of the seat.
I might be wrong, but I don't think weight is as much of an issue as secure anchors for the pole tie outs.

I’m very curious about this setup since I have two 8’ MSR Tarp poles: https://www.msrgear.com/tents/tent-a...ble-poles.html

I wouldn’t have thought these could work for a setup like that, and maybe being adjustable isn’t recommended but still.

The challenge is cordage, length, and having stakes that’ll go deep enough to properly hold the lines. I imagine 8-15” steel stakes?

    Light weight single pole suspension?

The pole isn't better than a tree, but it gives me an option if there is only one tree or if I want to orient the tarp differently than the trees.
If I go to the desert, I'll take two poles and leave the tent at home.

Shug's suggestion for using Boomstakes is quite sound

the force on the stakes is directed substantially below the surface as seen here

if the ground is soft using the 3-stake method i mentioned above will help by tripling the holding power

The boomstakes do work great and I use them exclusively now. They do pull out in soft ground, found that out the hard. Ended up on my butt several times with stakes being launched into space.

I never thought about using a third stake in soft ground. I will have have to order a couple more and try it out.

Ive been using a tensa solo setup for beach camping for a bit. Works great with the right anchors. A1195B5F-EB96-4261-93CB-6AE4099010AC.jpg

Hey Saltfly - what's your anchor of choice when you're Soloing at the beach?
