    First UCR build

Hey guys- first post, and I've just begun to dive into splicing. These are the first UCR's I've built, and I think they turned out alright.
It's probably been out there, but I've never seen anyone build in a soft shackle into a UCR, but hopefully it'll work- figured it was worth a try.
They're adjustable from 2' to 7' at 0.7 oz each.
I also built in a loop if I ever need to add a prusik if they decide to start slipping...

Very nice. You may find you will want some way to hold the black rope from slipping loose on the blue on the soft shackle end. When loaded, there is nothing that keeps the bury tight. I like the soft shackle feature.

Looks like you have done a great job and the soft shackle look good. Better than my first attempt. Personally I like to prusik the trailing loop for the added security and it also keeps it up out of the way.

With no prusik or whipping or other method to secure that free end, it's going to slip. Just a slight brush against a tarp line will cause that bury to give way. Ask me how I know.

Sounds like I'll be adding a prusik
I have some zingit I was going to use for this if needed, so I guess that's next on the list.

I use a simple five or six wrap whipping at the end of the bury. Doesn't have to be tight or it will hamper adjustments. Just a bit snug to prevent the slip.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
