Stranded in Ecuador without hammock stuff! Help needed.

So I'm stranded in Ecuador and it is slowly becoming a miserable experience.

Been here for 8 weeks now and I hate it.

I can't sleep and there is a curfew from 14:00 making life challenging.

Yesterday I cracked and smashed my phone to pieces.

It was a really bad episode. We are talking repeatedly throwing it at full force till it was just particles.

I have only brought a 1.0 robic with me without a net so not much use. I was wondering if Warbonnet or any of the others are shipping to Ecuador and approximately how long it will take.

I'm desperate. I just wanna disappear into the woods, cry and reset but the circumstances are getting in top of me.

    Please advise anybody.

Not really sure what your looking for from the internet. Do you have food, water? The world is locked down and under curfew. You are not alone count your blessings. You have inner strength and can make it. Were is home and what kind of hammock rig do you normally have?

If you could make any set up you desired, what would it be?

Can you provide a field report about daily life for the average person in Ecuador?

What brought you there prior to all this happening?

What is the one thing you'd like to do most when you get home?

    Breathe....un-clench....
Warbonnet ships Internationally but check in with them and see for sure.
We all are a bit bound up wherever we are.

International shipping (delivery addresses outside the USA):

Priority mail normally takes around 2 weeks to arrive in most countries (once shipped) Shipping time to Canada is more like one week normally. We can ship UPS/Fed-Ex international, which normally takes 3-5 business days, but this method normally costs a good 60$ or more ABOVE the regular international Priority price (often 100-130$ total shipping price for Fed-Ex 3-5 day International shipping so we do not use this method except by request.

    Home is England.

I normally rock a homemade 11' hyper-d gathered end in the infamous olive colour.

My ideal setup would be a lighter version of the Warbonnet El Doradodo with muletape bucket suspension and a Warbonnet mini-fly with better sewn tieouts.

For the underquilt I've been impressed with the Wookie way of doing it. At first I was unsure but everybody raves about it.

Daily life stops at 14:00 for curfew and everybody pretty much goes out to buy food before this time.

    I came for a holiday.

When I get home I would like to buy a new phone and go on a ride into the Peak District National park with a hammock and wild camp the night.

Sounds a good plan but in the mean time you need to deal with your present circumstances and well being, I feel your pain though , are you traveling on your own ? you need to somehow try and not to worry about the things that you cannot control, it will get better but is always a lot easier to bounce off someone else, Ie problem shared problem halved, keep positive and try to keep smiling, check out warbonnet site they may be able to sort something out

Is there a store that sells tablecloths? Add some rope and voila! you've got a hammock.

So just an update. Much better today. I neglected to tell you all that I was 27 hours into my first ever food fast when things went sideways.

Fasting and sleep deprevation had a massive part to play no doubt.

I'm going to try to find some bugnet and make a fronky to attach to my Robic hammock. Or perhaps a half wit net. For insulation I'll try and get a sleeping bag or something to bodge as an underquilt.

Things are really pricey here and choice is not that good tbh.

They pay a lot more for things we take for granted. Like shampoo is about 3x the UK price. Pretty much everything is at parity or double/triple the UK price with few exceptions like lemons, bananas etc. The ones you would expect.

So for anyone considering Ecuador then note it has become very expensive. 30 eggs are $3.75 and whilst this is not that bad it is the same price as the UK so it is not that good either.
