A little stealth camp for your soul

I was able to get out for a quick overnight with some nice weather to one of my "secret" camps in the backwoods. Well wishes and good thoughts to all who haven't made it out yet. Your time will come soon.

*Note, because of my remote living situation I am able to access the back country directly from my property. All proper guidelines were observed. I don't even have to get in my car *

    Cheers

    Yeah...campsites closed on SHT:

A brief update on our current guidance and plans for 2020:

#HikeInPlace close to home and avoid travelling to the Trail. In our most recent update, we ask that you enjoy parks and trails near you during the "Stay At Home" order to prevent the spread of the virus.
All SHT campsites are closed until further notice. Our partners at the US Forest Service and Minnesota DNR recently closed all campsites on the lands they manage, and the Governor's Order 20-38 indicated that all recreational campsites must remain closed. We advise backpackers and thru-hikers to postpone planned trips until mid-June to allow more time for campsites and amenities to reopen.
All SHTA volunteer activities planned in May have been postponed. We aim to reschedule projects and adapt our plans to ensure critical maintenance gets done. We also ask our section and campsite adopters to hold off on their annual spring duties through the end of May and await further notice. We will ensure all necessary safety protocols are followed once volunteers can resume their duties. Head to our Volunteer Portal to receive updates when volunteer opportunities are posted.
Contractor-led projects remain scheduled for later this summer. We've enlisted local trail builders to help complete the reroute at Pincushion Mountain, replace the failing boardwalk over Sawmill Creek, and complete the "138 Steps" reroute near Spirit Mountain in Duluth. Professional evaluators will also provide recommendations for trail improvements on the Cascade River and Split Rock River loops.
Our National Trails Day Weekend Guided Hikes scheduled for June 5-7 have been postponed. We aim to reschedule these hikes later this fall, and we anticipate changes to future hikes to keep participants safe. Pre-register for Guided Hikes here to receive updates.
