Exclamation Help with TATO hardware kit stand!

Hi all, first time poster here.

I bought a warbonnet ridge runner and tato hardware kit to make my own stand. I bought the required conduit and top rail fence post of the specified 1.315 inches from lowes. The tato hardware kit fits perfectly for the conduit which consists of the tripod legs. The top rail, however, is a another story. It just won't fit! I am putting it in the correct end and not one that links to other fence poles. I have used copious amounts of industrial grade grease and petroleum jelly, but without trying to ram it in there with enough force to chop the o-rings, I don't see it going in. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!

Did you cut the top rail and possibly create a "lip" situation. I have the original "older" kit that uses the conduit for the top rail and it obviously fit very well but it recently collapsed but that's another story

    Well I'm glad you're okay !

I checked, and I don't think so. I have tried both ends. The end I cut myself as well as the end that came with top rail fence. That end should theoretically fit the kit as the end I cut off is the connection piece. There is even a little welding bulge in the pipe that I hand filed down to no avail. I have checked around the internet and have only come across the previous kit. The conduit as the top rail kit seemed to work for people just fine, but I have yet to find someone with the updated version which asks for the fence post rail. Thanks for your suggestion though! I have sent contact info to Tato, but they don't seem as active as they used to be.

Maybe shoot Dutch an email as well. Yea I'm find. I used the same setup for 3 or 4 years with a 14 foot top rail made out of conduit but about three weeks ago I climbed in and the top rail simply bowed up to a perfect bend and I slowly went to the ground. I was pushing it at 14 feet but needed that for my Ridgerunner.

Harbor Freight sells a cheap plastic micrometer for 99 cents. You already know the tubing doesn’t fit, but with the micrometer, you’ll know by how much - like you’ll have specific numbers and it will remove any question about the angle causing it to bind.

In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
