I've considered using one of those live traps and then turning the roaming feline into the town's animal control officer. They are a nuisance. Leaving footprints on my vehicles, and 'tootsie roll' gifts in the sandy areas of my yard.

Most cats. I have a stray that live on the porch next door. I've seen this cat just walking along in down pours in temps in the 40's. Tough cat.

A pellet gun is probably your best bet. Or a paintball gun if you're... a cat lover.

A friend of mine once recommended a slingshot with ice balls as the evidence melts away. ;-)

As a cat owner and rescuer, this thread is taking a dark and offensive turn. Just bring in your hammock when not in use. That will protect it from tree sap, bird poop, limbs falling, and many other potential problems.

Well if a cat owner has a "pet" and keeps it inside...it's a pet. If they just feed them and let the wild animals roam and multiply it becomes an issue for everyone else. Not a pet in my eyes at that point.

I don't want to get into an argument about shooting cats. The thread was about removing urine odor. This is a family-friendly forum. Hopefully a moderator will weigh in before the cat hate thing goes any further.
