Does anyone hammock camp with their horses? I bought a hennessy. The hammock and tarp will fit nicely in my saddle bags.

Blaze new trails and report back - should be a good fit :>)
My Morgan horse passed on many years ago (my pre-hammock days) but I did quite a lot of bivy camping on horses with a friend during my youth and it was very nice. This was in North West Pa. - we had lots of remote woodlands/farm fields available to us - we combined it with fishing and hunting. Good memories.
So yes - get out there and make your own memories.

How do you get it to stand still?
I was wondering how strong the suspension must be to hold a horse!!! Never knew they liked hammocks...
Tough crowd :>)
Hammock is way better than bivy/horse. #1 rule with a bivy is tie the horse down hill from you (unless you don't mind a warm urine bath).

I have always wanted to do that. I just have never been able to since I am just a lucky girl who gets to care for horses but doesn't own them. (Best set up for anything since you shoulder none of the cost, but it means you never have a horse fully at your disposal.)
Around us the hardest thing about your plan is finding suitable camping sites since horses have their own designated trails and typically don't have camp sites on or near them. A lot of the over nighters in my neck of the woods have loops and large areas where trailers can be set up and the owners can camp often owned by bars or clubs. But trees are limited except around the edges of the camp area due to the needs of the horses and trailers.
Should work under the right circumstances and location.
Here in the land of MU's or Multi-use Trails, I have no problem with horses and horse campers. I am a former horse owner.
I would beseech you to stay and camp in and around the same areas and trails, that you ride in, and not continue to bushwhack further into the backcountry of our wilderness areas. It's absolutely horrible to hike the same trails that have pressure from horse traffic. Saddle Creek valley In the Hoosier NF, for the most part, is pretty much like a big open air horse barn that no one thinks ever needs cleaned.

That would be fun to do
We have a few trails here in Louisiana that allow horses. I just never tried it. I would like a pack saddle and do some multi day outing with my horses.
