Looks a great set up, when I put my scaffold pole in the ground to use instead of a post I put it in a sleeve same as you so I can remove it and store it when not in use, when I dug the hole I put 20mm beach shingle in the bottom of the hole then the sleeve and concreted it in, if it rains it can drain though the soil ,well it can in UK water tables are way way down just got to rethink eye bolt on garage set up (see garden Hang post) and by the way I love the size of your back yard, thats like a park in England

Yea, I was waiting till I hung both my Warbonnet RidgeRunner and gathered end and then I'm going to cut that post off.

Do you think a 10' post would have been tall enough? (I'm guessing they are sold in 2' sections?)
