I'm sure there are others who are itching to get out and camp if they could find a location and do it safely. I was hoping to find a spot up in the Chequamegon-Nicolet national forest, but dispersed camping is now prohibited there. So, I've been in contact with a farm owner in Rubicon, WI (near Hartford - about 30 minutes north of Pinewoods Campground) who has four sites on his property. Two of sites would accommodate hammock campers.
Is there any interest in camping knowing that this wouldn't be a traditional group hang. Everyone would be camping individually - no group meals or anything. You plan to camp and cook individually. Everybody would have their own mini camp 10+ feet from each other. Of course, one could pull up a chair and chat at least six feet away from each other.
Cost would be about $10 per person per night.
Date would be in a couple of weeks. Maybe first weekend in May?
Firewood is provided. There is a composting toilet. Leashed pets are allowed.
If we have at least four people who are in, then I'll book it.
