    Talking Greetings from Manitoba!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new to camping and the outdoors in general, really only getting into non campground trips over the past year and a bit and now I'm stumbling down the rabbit hole of hammocks
My friend convinced me to give hammocks a try and I had my first overnight hang with my new hennessy hammock this past weekend and it was a great time! I'm looking forward to learning more about all the things that contribute to a perfect hang and of course all the gear that comes with it (UQ prices, yikes!).

Hope to see you all around the forums and maybe even in person if anyone is in central Canada! Also I'm on BCUSA under the same name if I'm allowed to say that.

    Cheers,
    Erik

    Welcome!

I'm new here too so I guess we'll be learning the ropes together. I know those gear prices can be shocking but I've always believed in the "buy once, cry once" philosophy. Spend the money and get it right the first time or else you'll spend even more down the road!

    Happy trails

    Greetings and welcome!

Indeed it can be quite a rabbit hole, lots to learn about for sure. I have found the forums to be a great source of information and the members accomadating. It will take some time to get your gear the way you want it, so be patient and look for the good sales (especially around Thanksgiving/Christmas). Also, you may find a good deal here in the for sale section.

Thanks guys! Buy once cry once seems doubly true for outdoors gear, I learned that the hard way with my ground setup on many cold trips haha. I'll definitely be on the lookout for sales and used deals, although not many people seem to be selling 0* wooki's
