Thanks for all the feedback! I could see how wind could be a tangle problem for a tarp CRL or tie-outs made out of this stuff unless one was very careful to keep tension as it's wound up.

I'm really liking this stuff, though, for "short length" uses like prusiks. The prusik's I made really bite on my Zing-it ridgeline. I've had trouble with Zing-it prusiks slipping.

I also spliced about a dozen 3" CLs out of the 1.4mm fishing line and attached them to aluminum gutter nails I'm using as tarp stakes. It's perfect for stake pull tabs.

A short length tied to another prusik attached to my hammock SRL helps me keep track of my pillow.

A couple of more CLs larks-headed onto the zipper pulls of my bug net makes it easier to find those.

I'll keep playing with it and see how it holds up over time. If I learn any disadvantages (besides the potential tangle problem) I'll post again.

I’ve spliced some 1mm line from Emma Kites. I use it for prussic knots that never slip on my continuous ridgeline.

I use Emmakites 1.8 mm 900 lb. waxed line - approximate equivalent of Dynaglide, even easier to splice, but possibly prone to snagging when the wax coating starts to wear, though I'm using it for my hammock suspension with daily set up and take down and no problems so far. It's the side cords, triangle suspension, and structural ridge line of a PBH. For the main suspension line I use a loopy sling, so it's doubled.

I've had the Emmakites 1.8 mm 900 lb. waxed line in my Amazon cart for a long time. I think Ann Marie from Autumn Ultra Light turned me on to that.. just didn't need any more cordage. I'll try some in my next order..
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

BEADSMITH Big Eye Beading Needles are a decent tool for smaller lines.

Good to know! I've been using doubled over 22 or 24 gauge paddle wire available at virtually any craft store (I got mine at Michael's). It's used a lot by florists. It's adequately stiff and flexible at the same time and works pretty well for splicing the thin stuff, but does have a tendency to break after about a dozen uses. That's not really much of an issue though since the spools have over 100' on them and seem to last forever. But I've always got an eye open for alternatives. Thanks for sharing!
