Couple of things: Note there is already a “Considering moving to a LiteAF tarp” in this sub-forum. You may find more answers there. You mentioned wanting to reduce weight AND bulk. But most posts indicate that though the DCF tarps are lighter, they are also bulkier - do not compress as much as the Sil’s. Though the LiteAF does not have catenary cut, the guy pullouts are angled to help get a tight pitch. Though I’ve found a Hex to be very utilitarian, I’ve found womenfolk prefer a little more privacy and protection from the cold. Doors give you more versatility with little weight penalty (but bigger $ penalty).
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I don't personally recommend a straight-cut ridgeline. My first HG DCF tarp was a Standard with straight-cut ridgeline. I don't even remember why I wanted a straight-cut ridgeline, but it was a bad idea. I couldn't achieve a taut pitch with that tarp for love nor money.

Within a few months I moved to an HG Winter Palace with cat-cut ridgeline and have been happy ever since.

Trails are frequently used at night by grizzly bears and mountain lions. This guy may get a ride awakening in the middle of the night!

One would imagine that as popular as this tarp is that they would have another run before summer. Hum...

I emailed the LiteAF people since the tarp section is offline on their site. They responded by saying they're not carrying tarps anymore. So I guess it's HG or zpacs for dyneema tarps!

But something with AF in the name should be, like, you know, in focus.

    Or maybe it's anti fungal.
Thanks guys, or gals, for setting me straight. I thought it was, well, Anti-F... as in Gas and they had cornered the market on some new technology and BeanO tarp just didn't cut it, pardon the pun.
