years ago i found a fellow hammocker/archer's post about using carbon arrow shafts for the Super Fly tie outs. i took 4 of my shafts with damaged fletching, removed the field points/broadheads, threaded in and epoxied two 6" SS threaded rods (think 8/32) halfway into two of the shafts, and once the pairs are screwed together (helps to keep oiled), the nock ends provide the perfect clipping point for the shock cord i use on all my tarps (≦1/8" cordage works). the pairs measure 63.5"OA. guessing it's a more expensive option if you're not an archer, but they're light(?), fairly compact and set up about as fast as other options—keeping threads lightly oiled with good ol' light jojoba (great corrosion inhibitor like camilia oil). first attempt i needed them quickly and used shorter bronze threaded rods i had, and eventually they bent and broke. these are the SS ones before i epoxied them:

25℉ in Yellowstone and comfy as a bug; sadly no pictures of the setup in the backcountry; the shafts shown in the 1st pic are a heavier spine weight and don't deflect as much as the these:
