    Permanently hung outdoor hammock

I’d like to leave a hammock permanently hung in the trees in my back yard. I’m not really into those heavy rope woven outdoor hammocks. I much prefer the hammocks I’ve been backpacking with for the past 10 years. My question is if I left an eno or other relatively low-cost hammock up from spring to fall, how many seasons do you think I’d get out of it? I know it doesn’t take much to set it up, especially if weight or use of biners isn’t an issue. That said, i want to be able to just walk out and not set anything up. I also don’t want to clean up when I’m done
    Thoughts?

Long term exposure to UV, rain and the elements will compromise the integrity of the fabric.

But, you could always try a cheapo Chinese hammock from Amazon and see what happens.

I would be concerned about mold and mildew, and UVdegradation.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

when I had an ENO when I first got into hammocking I would leave a set of the slap straps (or whatever the name of ENO straps was) around the tree and would remember which loop I had it set on and took the hammock inside when I was done. then the next time I wanted to go out and hang it wouldn't take very long to set it back up. I have dogs and there was no way I would leave the hammock up all the time while they were out they would end up running into it and messing it up, that and I didn't want birds to poop on the hammock

Just a big dirty filter, getting wet then catching every speck of pollen and dust in the county.

I get the desire, but it's worth just setting up some "permanent" straps or ropes, setting the hammock straps/whoopies to fit and never changing them, and just storing that hammock inside. Grab it and clip it on in a matter of seconds. But the lazy in me still says that's not good enough.

    Nope!
It’ll rot (eventually). Easy enough to hang each day, when needed.
Wind, rain, snow, bugs and birds.
Squirrels chewed on my webbing once, which I had to replace.

You could set up straps with a “ridgeline” and some rings between then it would be simple to hook the hammock onto the rings with carabiners
The essential part of me can not be discussed here. Ask me in person.

I've been sleeping in my hammock(s) outside, year round, for about 7 years now. In winter, it's up under a tarp. In the summer, I use a different hammock. The tarp is in a sleeve when not in use and deployed as needed. I leave the whoopie slings up, but pull the hammock each morning and hang it up in the garage. Only do this because I have a sprinkler system that starts up at 6:00 AM.
I alternate the slings about every 6 months, but am still on the same 2 sets I made 3 years ago. Had to replace the summer tarp that I made 3 years ago that I silicone treated myself. Tarp has not rotted, but tends to mist inside when it rains hard.
Most of my tarps are silnylon and I have a cuben tarp for backpacking. Have also gone to heavier fabric for the backyard and truck camping during hunting season.

And, I thought my alarm clock was annoying.
