    SLD Badlander style tarp

I bought a used Kitsap Cowboy designed Badlander tarp built by Jared a while ago. A great tarp with an 11 ridgeline. I prefer a longer ridgeline so asked Jared to make me a custom one. I ended up getting a 12' badlander with doors that are 10" longer in the middle and exterior pole mods. Think this is going to be my new favorite tarp. I've been testing it the past four nights. I'm not sure about the line locks on the tie outs though. I used blue zing it and they slipped a couple of times until I tied a slip knot in the tail ends. In fairness though it was raining with gusts to 40 in an exposed location. Thanks Jared

I use line locs whenever I can, and I think they are great for temporary adjustments. My tarps now have line locs sewn (hacked) on. But I think a slip knot is always required to stop them from slipping.
That tarp sounds like it will be a great shelter!

I like it. A lot. I keep designing tarps at various cottage vendors but not pulling the trigger. I wasn't getting out enough to warrant spending hundreds of $ I didn't really have. Now that we're on indefinite lockdown...
Oooh, shiney! What does THIS button do?

I bought this tarp quite a while ago. Between my surgery and recovery I just couldn't get out to use it.with the lockdown now I figured I'd try it for a week in the back yard.

If you are up for swapping out cords to reduce slippage I would recommend Lawon's glowire. I use the 2mm with the line lock hooks (so same size as regular LineLoc3) and have not experienced any slippage, though only for pretty mild conditions so far. On another thread cmc4free mentioned Lawson designed the 2.5mm cordage specifically for use with the Linelocs. 3mm also fits but is apparently more of a nuisance to adjust with ease. Like I said, I went with the 2 because it sticks great but also adjusts amazingly easy and I can always do a knot after adjusting if the situation requires it.

I've found that Lawson line works the best with the linelocks on all of my Jared tarps. Some of the other brands just don't hold as well.
