    Hammock stand to the rescue

When you move and your bed doesn't arrive for a couple of days, it's a hammock stand to the rescue!

Never thought I'd be comfortable in my backyard recreational hammock overnight, but thanks to a diagonal lay, I was!

Think of it as a great opportunity to ditch the bed permanently!

I LOVE my bed, but when I no longer love it, I will ditch it for a hammock for sure.

I have, I'd wager, the exact hammock and stand as you, right down to the colour

Mines been a fantastic nap machine, but isnt quite long enough for over nights.

I have pretty much same hammock stand and have used it for overnight but I am short..as in 5'2" short...so I can sleep somewhat flat. Certainly flat enough for a night or two.

I have a hammock stand that I picked up at the local lumber/building materials/miscellaneous recycling store for $5. It is kind of like two upward Vs connected to two straight pipes along the bottom edge. Worked fine, but I preferred to use the system I have suspending the hammock from the red iron trusses on pulleys because it is easier to store out of the way during the day time. I will keep the stand for setting up on the porch or for truck camping during the summer months at developed camping areas or where suitable trees aren't readily available..

Here is a compromise. Both. I spend most the night in a hammock, but I can also bail and use the bed when the mood/need says to do so.

My son and I have been using very similar setup for 2.5 years now. Just add a fleece underquilt, blankets, and optional pillow! Glad you had a comfy alternative until your bed arrived. Interesting factoid, my son is nearly 6' tall and this setup still works well for him. Then again he does like sleeping curled up in a ball, so I'm sure that helps.

I’ve not ditched the bed, but it hasn’t seen my sleepy head since last December.
