River to River trail in southern IL? I believe it is still open, but the recreation sites- like Garden of the Gods, are all closed.

Pine mountain scenic trail in southeastern Kentucky, I would like to hike it this spring myself if the current situation improves.

I'll 2nd the River to River in southern Illinois. I haven't done the entire trail yet but the few small sections that I have day hiked were great. I hadn't heard of the twin lakes loop in Indiana yet so thanks for mentioning that. Looks like a good overnighter. I was all set to do the Knobstone the weekend before last but we all know what happened with that.

If you like to hike 12-16 miles a day in moderately strenuous mountains, the Foothills Trail in SC/NC is fantastic. I did it last spring, four nights, finished at lunch on the fifth. See Shug and others' videos.

I need to check it out sometime. What happened with your trip? I could be wrong, but I believe it's all thru state forest land so there won't be any worries about closed campgrounds due to covid-19. But I could be wrong; it's been a long time since I researched the entire thing.

I mostly cancelled to stay home with my family. Got 3 kids age 6 to 14. That weekend was when things with Covid-19 got kinda scary. Panic shopping that we stayed away from, uncertainty about work and school cancellation's. I'm hoping things will settle down a bit by early May and I can try again. As long as the heat and humidity haven't arrived.
Anyway we are doing well, staying positive and thankful for our First responders, Healthcare workers, Essential worker's keeping our food supply going, and people working in sanitization during all this.
Hope the trail you pick is Happy Stay safe and healthy

Edit to add: There is a great video set for the River to River on YouTube by Benhikes. 8 vids I think of his thru hike that has great info

If you can get to New Hampshire, check out the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway
