A really wierd question

What in the world is an "old miners ballon house"? I'm familiar with balloon framing. But that uses studs and you stated that "there is no stud".

I'm stumped (as is Google).

Please enlighten me, what exactly is an old miner ballon house?

A balloon house is the term the contractor used but actully the walls are covered with a thin wood paneling

Balloon framing.. The exterior shell of the house is constructed.. ground to roof, creating a shell or balloon around the structure. Then the floors and room divisions are added. Think of a large barn.

Platform framing.. almost all modern homes are platform framing. First level of perimeter and division walls are constructed, then a floor is added on top and then the next level of exterior and division walls are added, and the next floor atop that and so on..
