Loops in the Catskills are somewhat hard to come by.

A couple of fairly easy out-n-backs are Echo Lake from Prediger trailhead (N42.1341, W74.1044) and (somewhat less easy) Giant Ledge from Woodland Valley parking area (N42.0363, W74.3587). A very easy, short hike to Giant Ledge is from Rt 47 (Oliverea Rd) parking area (N42.0264, N74.4039).

This past winter Dirtbaghiker did one of my favorite semi-loops which is the Blackhead Range. His report here. But that's on the upper end of moderate, nigh hard.

One of the most popular loops in the Catskills is Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide (WCS) starting from either Woodland Valley or Oliverea Rd, going either clockwise or counter-clockwise, but most would agree that with around 6,000 ft of climbing and a few scrambles that it is not easy. Something for your future list.

I've used this book for years, put out by the NY/NJ Trail Conference:

catskill book 01.jpg catskill book 02.jpg

Excellent trail descriptions and Appendix with detailed mileage for marked trails. The Catskill map set and all the others they publish are excellent.

I’ll second that - this map set is awesome, better than that National Geographic.

    easy hikes- yep, that's me!
Out of shape and nothing to prove- love that!
    5 mile day hikes -- that's impressive! I'm only getting 1-4 milers
trails less traveled - preach on brother!
    very little people... nice!

No useful advice. Actually ONE piece of advice. Look up https://www.meetup.com/Hammock-Backpackers/ When this Covid crap calms down, they look like a good group. I've joined and have been following, but my very first hike I signed up for got cancelled (stupid virus).

Just really related to your post! LOL!!
