We just came back from a 3 mile snowshoeing backpacking trip on the Kelly Hollow Trail near Margaretville, NY. Stunning winter wonderland, easy grade to and from the shelter/Beaver Pond, and a plethora of hanging options around the lean-to once you reach camp. There's a privy and reliable water source at camp, too.

We have some photos from the trip in the event album over at our group - link in my signature.

It will default to your regular FB profile pic, we just want to make sure it's of you and not, say, your pet parrot. We like to know who to look out for in case we're meeting at a trail head, etc.

Leave work Friday afternoon, drive to the park, hike for an hour or so. Make camp, relax, eat, clear head. Sleep. Wake in the morning, eat and complete the loop. Then you're back home for lunch on Saturday. Yes, you're not packing on the miles but at least you're getting a night out under the stars.
I like your style. This is exactly the type of trips I’m looking for near Northern NJ to get nights out in the woods.
