Greetings from Northern Utah

I’ve never even hung yet but I’m super-excited about doing so. Obsessed, really… obsessed. I’ve been researching and planning all winter. I’ve bought all the gear I’d need for a backcountry excursion. Hell, I’ve even been planning on upgrading that gear already (gear I haven’t even used yet)!

I’m just aching to get out there. There are so many amazing places to hang in the area; the High Uinta Wilderness being the gem. Unfortunately, most trails/roads are completely snowed-in for some time yet.

I’m running out of Patience.

Side note: If y’all know of any Utah — or Southern Idaho — hammock related groups, hit me up, for sure… I’d really be interested in becoming a member.

Welcome aboard... it's a great hobby you have started to pursue.

Do you have anywhere close by, your own or a friend's backyard maybe, where you can take your gear on a test run? I hang in my backyard to practice and just for the fun of it.

Welcome from a fellow Utah hanger. I'll second the post above about getting out to test gear now. Overnight temps in the salt lake valley right now are similar to what you'll find on a Uintas trip in the summer so it's a great time to test gear.
