Best way to install Cumulus Selva underquilt?

    Hey there,

so this season will be my second with a hammock system but the first one with and underquilt.
I just opened my Cumulus Selva underquilt and now I'm stuck on how to instal it to my system in the best possible way.

I have Dutch netless hammock without any adjusting loops, I am ultralight backpacker and there are no shops with gear in my area (middle Europe). All my system works on multiple knots.
All I got to my UQ is a 4mm shockcord which is ridiculously heavy (more than the UQ). So I will probably need a better line and some clever ways of attaching. All I can get is 2 carabiners to hang it to my continuous loops if they are necessary.

What is the best way for me in your opinion?

Looks like you would do shock-cord from the corners.
You can see the technique in the video below at 0:36 in.
    Hope it helps.

    Thanks, Shug, very helpful!

I was just going through your videos and I'm trying to pitch a tarp with V-lines around tree and taunt line hitch to adjust the tarp. But the knot keeps sliding on the cord. I have 1.75 mm UHMWPE from the Dutch. Should I try different knot or is it the material of the tarp that wouldn't cooperate? Thanks for all your activity around hammock world! Your videos helped me a lot at the beginnings

Try a truckers hitch or some different knots if it is slipping.

Poland. At least that's where they're headquartered.

I have a CS Apex parka of that brand and it is really excellent quality.

The truth is, Cumulus delivers too much shockcord with absolutly no information how to hang it on the hammock. If you have lighter underquilt than selva 600, you can buy lighter shockord.

The reason is that they think to run the shockord all around the underquilt which is not good attitude in my opinion.

There are two linelocks on every end of the uderquilt. It is enough to run one piece of shockord on each end. It runs from one linelock to the other one. You can hang the shockcord at the same place as you hang your amsteel loop of your hammock.

So you end up with two pieces of shockcord approx 1.5m each. Then you adjust the shockcord through the linelocks and if there is too much excess, you can cut it.

    Hello Infrastellar! How's it hanging?
I have the lightest summer Selva 120. Thanks for the demonstration, I'll try to run thinner shockcord only through the ends and see how it works.

OK, your selva 120 is the summer light one, and smaller diameter shockcord will be enough.
