Do you paint live on location or work from memory or photos?

Trees are amazing to paint and these are some of my first attempts. Maybe laying in hammocks staring at trees for hours has made me see them better. You are right, there are so many textures and colors to capture in them.

Starting to feel like I am finally finding my painting style after all these years living.

Thank you... I like to paint live on the spot. My grandfather was an impressionist painter and I continue the tradition, I guess...
Pictures tend to flatten the values, and it is just more inspiring to be there. I organise some workshops like that in Paris where students come from all over the world, but painting in the country is better, quieter !

Oui, I did eventually see a photo of you painting on location. This is something I want to do it time. Though I do like just painting in my Nut-Hut. Enjoy the solitude.

It is an exercise in just getting it on and done. Loving it as there is absolutely no stress and I enjoy the solitude of painting. No audience. There is a physicality to it mixing and working the brushes.
