Those paintings are really great Monsieur Shug.

Slap a couple of those onto t-shirts and you'll start a new craze! Maple King and Swamp Running Shug in black XXXL!

Great work! I don't know what the cost would be to run them or how many would need to be sold to justify the expense, but I would buy some prints for my backpacking gear cave.

I second that. If/when you decide to make prints I’d hang one in a minute (no pun intended?). Great stuff!

    Really well done!
I do enjoy a good stick figure.

A humble thanks. My aim is to keep doing it and get better as I age. And to just enjoy it and get it done.

Wow, that's fun stuff, he's not an amateur ! I love the contrast, you've got great shades, and a lot of things going on in there ! When I say fun, I mean good, and this compliment comes from an art teacher.

    Merci!
The fact I am just having fun painting and doing just for "arts sake" makes it fun.
    No pressure.

Absolutely, that's the most important thing ! They perspire your energic temper and interest in drama.
Now trees are a hard subject, they need to be studied carefully : how they grow, etc. And when you figure out a trunk is not necessarily brown, but can be green, blue, gray, etc. or rather IS those colors, because light changes the colors of things depending on how it hits them, depending if they are in the front or at the back (if there is more or less air in between you and them), etc. then you take a great step.
Some of my attempts here : http://www.atelieralupi.com/nicolas/ - They could be criticised as well, of course.

Magnifiques peintures! I love your work and the colors and freedom a strokes.
Especially liked Rhododendron dans le jardin Albert Kahn 1.
Do you paint live on location or work from memory or photos?

Trees are amazing to paint and these are some of my first attempts. Maybe laying in hammocks staring at trees for hours has made me see them better. You are right, there are so many textures and colors to capture in them.

Starting to feel like I am finally finding my painting style after all these years living.
