Yes Shug, like you said “keep it sparse”! Some art, is it Japanese, Chinese or both that leave some empty spaces or sparseness in their paintings. Makes it more beautiful to me.
Some space some emptiness, for more tranquility.

I surely am going to try to be sparse to a point. That is a the idea on this one. All the background first. Takes the most time.

Remember Shug, as Bob Ross always said "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents!"

I really like the ghostly or fog shrouded trees behind the hammock in this one. I'd never offer an artist advice but I hope you don't change that part too much. Looking forward to the completed work.

Yessir...that is the focus of this painting. A foggy smokey look. Working on it. Harder painting than I assumed it would be.
