Welcome! How are you liking the 1.7MTN?
My experience is limited so take this with a grain of salt, but I find the 1.7MTN to be very comfortable. I sleep in a firmer bed at home so I opted for the 1.7 MTN from Dream Hammocks after a lot of reading here and elsewhere. Very minor weight penalty vs. some other fabrics available. I also went wide, which I love, and seem to be able to get a very flat lay without a lot of calf ridge. The width does precipitate the use of tie outs to keep the fabric and netting from flopping over into my face a bit. I'm 6'1" and about 205 for reference sake. After being a ground dweller for years, I'm amazed at how quickly I can set up and strike camp. (I use straps with carabiners and cinch buckles.) This is perhaps my favorite part although not fabric related...
