I’ve got some of the .77oz MTN sil to play with. I can’t find much about others using it. It’s surprisingly strong, and seems to have less stretch then .9 membrane silpoly. It definitely stretches some on the bias, but warp and weft seems solid. I’ll be curious to see how it sags when wet.
I’m debating on how to attach the reinforcements. Thoughts on just sewing them on, vs laminating them like the membrane silpoly method? I’m guessing the ripstop grid stabilizes the fabric enough that it shouldn’t get the hole elongation issue when under tension?
