    Southwest PA hanging suggestions?

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for backpacking and hanging sites in SW Pennsylvania? I’m often on the LHHT but didn’t know how conducive the tent sites were to hammocks. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

For context, I’m relatively new to hammock camping and would like to try out some gear over a short trip when I have a bit of time off in a couple of weeks.

    Thanks

Frank Lloyd Wright Falling Water or near there. Also Kentuck Knob, 7 Springs Resort, Nemacolin Woods, Deep Creek Lake MD are some places I have been. Can't say how hammock friendly they are but lots of trees, and am sure there would be hanging opportunities, Check out Trails.com for some ideas as well.

The trail and system for this is the Bear Run Nature Preserve. It offers free camping and a good trail system for a weekend. But you do need to reserve/registrar on line.

Thanks everybody! I knew of some of these but others are definitely new. I didn’t know what the limitations were are dispersed camping. I had heard it was allowed in state forests but not state parks.
