Single piece tarp sleeves vs double?

I've been thinking of getting a tarp sleeve for my warbonnet thunderfly, but I have qualms about getting a two-piece set. (I just know I'll lose one of the pieces.) Is there any particular advantage two having two pieces vs one, or is it just a matter of preference?

I would recommend the one piece - It really isn't that much of a hassle

I like the single. It just ends up easier for me. Grab one end and slide all the way to the other, instead of walking to one side, then back to the middle and walking to the other side. First world problems, huh? I have double on one of my tarps, but don't like it as much. The main advantage I can think of is weight. You can taper the doubles, because the bulk of the tarp is in the middle. You'll save weight that way. But you can also save weight by using lighter material or tapering one end of the sleeve if you'd like.

Never tried a single but I have no problem with my two-piece from MountainGoat. Don't know why you'd be concerned about losing one half. When you pull them back, they're still held on by the tarp suspension or tensioners. Mine overlap and have little cord locks. They work just fine for me.

I’m thinking you gotta work pretty hard to lose a tarp sleeve. After all, it’s attached to the ridge line when the tarp is deployed and wrapping up the tarp when it’s not. That being said, I prefer a single sleeve. Mine is from Mountain Goat Sewing.

I'm in the minority, but I prefer the two piece with snaps added in the middle.

I have a double that I have only beta tested and I am already thinking about a single piece. I certainly do not think it is a deal breaker but the union of the two can be a little fussy and if they separate when rolling up or stuffing, you can get some tarp spillage. Doesn't really matter since kept on outside of my pack anyway but still is one more thing to think about.

I’ve got both. Figured the one piece would really set itself apart after all the comments but didn’t find much difference. Can’t go wrong with either. Maybe see what’s cheaper.
