Nice pics Keewaykeno! I particularly like the rocky shoreline. How was the fishing?

I'm good with the Marshmallow and hope to do the loop before. If we want to do the Pen beach site, we might need to show up Thursday or even Wednesday to claim the site. Seems like the parks are pretty crowded these days.

we decided to book pen for thursday Oct 1 for 4 nights (out monday the 5th). lazy paddling with intermittant napping followed by cooking and eating then more napping. room for 3 more following the park rules. ***reminder mrs niagara ( we will call her Mamie from now on) does work in ltc facilities but not directly with ‘care’ so if you are only comfortable with a distanced paddle by hello that is ok!!

Oct 2-4 would be the only dates I could possibly go. I’m moving my parents to London so they can be closer to me do the last weekend in September is out.
This whole Pandemic has been particularly difficult for my kids due to their special mental health needs. I’ve had to take time off work and had to miss out on two trips. I really hope the fall shapes up to be somewhat more stable for everyone. I really miss hanging with everybody. The beach site on Pen sounds perfect. The colours we saw when we were there last were incredible.

I will add 3 more to the mix, intend to be there Sept 29 through Oct 5 .... so we will see everyone there

I am not positive that the parking rules have changed, but I do know that if you reserve, they charge $11.50 a night parking for any vehicles past the first one on a permit. Not sure if it just me, but I have a problem paying more to park than I do to camp. So we just each book our own trip ... the parking is then included and it also has the desirable effect of limiting the lake population.

That's great! Are you doing the Louisa loop? If so, how did you break down the lakes by date?

We just booked Penn .... the portages looked a bit dodgy. We will just day trip out of Penn and likely base camp.

Hope to make it for the weekend. Unless schools have been shut down again by then, I'm a weekend marshmallow

Just got back from a week in the North end and bugs were pretty minimal, few deer/horse flies during the day, a few mosquitoes at night.

I've done the portages from Pen through Welcome, Harry, etc and the portages aren't too bad. Bit of a climb from Pen along the Galipo but after that the two longer portages are mostly downhill. Haven't done the one directly from Pen to Louisa.

Louisa as a nice lake with some great sites; worth a trip.
