Well there seems to be a healthy buzz developing. The recent pictures I've seen of Algonquin promise quite a beautiful fall.
I didn't see it mentioned before, but the beach campsite in question is the campsite directly south of the Night Lake portage halfway down the on the east side of Pen. Hopefully it'll be free.
Mr. Jiblets has very kindly taken on the role of poissonnier this time around. All I'd ask is that, as per normal, everyone carries in their own potatoes, as many as you'd eat (1 or 2) and for the love of God, please don't bring extras "just in case".
Mr. Highboy, I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to bet that fresh, hot garlic bread has never, ever been refused in the Algonquin backcountry. Yummers.
In keeping with EGL tradition I'm also pleased to announce that it appears that sunscreen and beach umbrellas will not be required for this trip. Given the forecast, extra tarps and ropes just might be the order of the day.
Has anyone thrown out a time that we'd like to assemble at the Rock Lake access point on Tuesday. 9 or 10 am (10) works for me.
