Hi people
I was planning to make myself a down underquilt. I bought all the stuff including 12 oz of 850 duck down. Then I had a kid and I really can't find the time to finish it. I remember somewhere on the internet someone use to sell empty quilt that you could fill yourself. Im I crazy? I can't find it anymore.


Please I'd love to use that down but i just can't see when I'll have time to finish this project in the close future

You are correct.. there was a source for quilt shells.. I don't know who it is though..sorry.

I guess you could always give any of the cottage businesses a call and see if they'd sell you a shell, or find an inexpensive shell/bag with synthetic fill and open/replace with your insulation.

Before he passed, Marty at Wilderness Logics also sold unfinished UQ shells.

I think UGQ and some of the other cottage companies keep some pre-made shells around for their "Fast track" UQs you might be able to talk them out of. Good luck.
