Any plans available for the “perfect” hammock stand?

I’d like to build a hammock stand. I’ve seen a few that use seven 2x4x8’s but they look small and short for a 10.5-11’ hammock.

Are there any plans out there for the perfect size & height stand?

    Thanks
    Randy

Guess it all depends how you define perfect. I find the Tensahedrian stands are perfect for me.

    I saw some of the Tensa stands at Hangcon and they look like they work great. I’m just looking for something probably made from 2x4’s that will let me hang on my porch. I figured if anyone has made the stand that I’m looking for, they would be on this forum (-;

    Thanks

    Ouch, a 4.2° hang angle!

A summary of what I tried:

    1. Tato kit: hated it
    2. Tato stand: about the same
    3. Grand Trunk Stand: just not long/tall enough, but close. Similar to others online or retail stores.
    4. Bipod stand: almost perfect. Quick and easy to set up, not too expensive, few parts, easy storage

I hang on my deck with an 11 ft hammock a lot during nice weather (no tarp) and use either a Turtle Dog stand (6 each 2"x2"s made into 2 tri-pods and a chain link top rail) or the Bi-pod mentioned above (3 each chain link top rails cut in half - built like a swingset).
Turtle Dog is less stable if there is wind, but easier to take down/set-up.
Bipod is much better with wind but not very quick to put up/take down - when I put it up I just leave it up.
    Both are easy DIY projects.
    Turtle Dog stand I used:https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...l=1#post809234 https://www.hammockforums.net/galler...mageuser=27438
    Bipod: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...od-style-stand

I use the turtle dog stand with one tri-pod and the other end hanging from the deck roof to make it much more wind tolerant:

P.S. My Turtle Dog stand was built in 2012 (8 years olds this year) and my Bipod in 2015 (5 years old this year). Hundreds of nights slept on each.

I used two hammock chair stands and top rail to make something similar to the Tato gear stand. The lowest height setting is 6', enough for me to walk under without ducking.

The tensahedron stands LOOK like some sort of impractical magic trick for engineers, but they're not. They're rock solid. From a DIY perspective, they're simple and cheap. Home depot has everything you need. The folks who make the commercial version put up a few different designs, just scroll down a few posts. https://www.tensaoutdoor.com/
