    Try narrowing the width by moving the suspension inward before you do any surgery. If you attach your primary at say 50" and it works then you know you have a width problem. I dont do quilts wider than 48" because it can be tough to get the ends high enough to properly tension the middle to prevent cbs.

    One other thing you can try is attaching shock cord in the center of the quilt sides and looping that over your ridgeline. That will lift the middle of the quilt.

    What george said
    I had a custom uq done by HG with an extra baffle
    I love it, it was just what i needed
    I do use a shock cord looped over down by my foot end
    Holds quilt perfect and prevents my top quilt from tagging alone with me when i exit
    Best of luck

    I'm having the exact same problem!

    I've even tried doubling up my UQs with no luck. Being 6'4", I thought it important to go with a wide UQ and hammock, but I'm not so sure how important it is for us taller folks. Going to try the shock cord over the ridgeline the next time I'm out.

    Funny stuff... I have the same as above... custom HG 0F with an extra baffle. And, I redirect the foot end shock cord up to my RL as well, albeit in a slightly different manner. I do this with all of my quilts. No leaks at the foot end..ever.
    Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

    This is what I do too, but I just run the shock cord loosely from side to side (not over ridgeline) and I use a small key chain biner to connect it so it is easy to connect/disconnect for getting in/out. You can attach the shock cord to the hammock via tarp clips or kamsnaps (#20's) or sew loops onto the hammock.

    For the head and foot end you could attach small biners to the ridgeline and put the UQ head/foot end suspension in it - it works like a simpler triangle thinge to pull up the UQ a little. Example of a triangle thinge: https://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/...eThingies.html

    I recommend using the "triangle thingies" that are outlined in this post below but to give a quick over view - You manufacture two triangle pieces that fit over you CRL - then the suspension attaches to the triangle piece which basically applies some upward pressure allowing a tighter seal;

    Try shifting the primary lines to see if you can pick up some of the middle slack. Kinda like an asymmetrical UG. That in conjunction with middle support might work.

    I made up a similar under quilt here : https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...lew-Suspension

    I haven't had any issues, if anything, it has been one of the best UQs I have. I looked at your "clew" and I am not sure you put enough lines on it ... the picture is also a bit hard to decipher, do you have any build details you could share?

    I would suggest going to a local hang and getting several “experts” to look at your setup and see what is actually happening. (Where exactly does the quilt have gaps). Sometimes several minds can come up with the quick solution. Getting someone else to lay in your hammock may help, but they are not you and may not use the hammock how you do. Besides, a hang is the best way to spend some research time anyway.
    The essential part of me can not be discussed here. Ask me in person.
