Just stared playing with my Darian, the first hammock without a removable net. This sounds like a great mod that I may need to check out, thanks for sharing

Just started playing with my Darian, still new to hammocks , but first one without zippers on both sides. This is a great idea, may have to experiment

That’s a fantastic idea. I ordered a Darien from Dream Hammock and am still waiting on it. I think I’m going to call them tomorrow and see if they can mod mine similarly.

That's a great idea. I don't own a Darien but that always seemed like a potential deal breaker for me. I have no sewing skills though. I wonder if there's any way one could do a no-sew with velcro?

you could just add the underquilt hooks and they will hold your quilt in place and you won't have to adjust it

I ordered those originally. I just thought it was a good idea to have the option of having an opening on the other side I could zip open or close just in case. Maybe I’m overthinking it.

I guess it depends on what type of sleeper you are. I know some people who sleep in a hammock like I do at home in my bed. They are out as soon as their head hits the pillow and don't wake up til morning. Unfortunately while camping, I get great rest but seem to wake up a lot in the night and quite often find things that need "fiddling" on the hammock setup-not necessarily just the underquilt. I know I'm weird, but I like the option of reaching out both sides.

I find the UQ easy to adjust on the non-zip side of the Darien.

Easy enough to feel the shock cord through the material and lift it up if necessary.

I have quilt hooks on mine but I stopped using them because they appear to be putting strain on the netting. I really don't miss them at all and am thinking about cutting them off altogether.

what I do is I only use the one that is closest to my head and then the one that's closest to my feet. that way it's holding the underquilt up against my outside shoulder and up on my feet seems to work great
