I have a Chill Gorilla 10x10 that I've used camping for three years and will now use as a hammock tarp. It has held up well. I think most backpacking purists would balk at it as it is kinda heavy, however, it's only 2#1oz with stuff sack a continuous 30' ridgeline (7/32 AmsBlue), soft shackles and prosik knots (w/o included stakes) AND a $1 Loofah snakeskin. Dutch's rectangle, which I would buy if I could, is a tad over one pound.
I like the extra size. It's worth the weight when the weather goes bad. They are around $35. There's a CG 12x12 also if you want to go really crazy or are mostly doing short hikes or car camping.
