    Nylon vs Polyester

I bought two second hand Wooki underquilts for an upcoming Blackbird. The first is in nylon and the second one in polyester (both 20D).

I tried to find info regarding the pros and cons of each fabric, but did not find much, and some of what I did find seemed contradictory.

Would a certain usage call for one over the other? I read that polyester doesn't absorb water like nylon, so perhaps it might be better suited for winter/humid/rainy conditions?

I would like people having experience with both to pitch in their two cents. Experience with both fabrics in Warbonnet gear would be even better.

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Benjamin

The important thing is that it's breathable. I don't know about the specific material, but being from Warbonnet I'm sure they're both fine.

Since it's not a tarp, any properties regarding sagging/getting wet shouldn't matter. If the UQ is getting wet in the first place, you've got other problems to address.

I thought these were always nylon...maybe something changed at one point?

Thanks OneClick. The current selection appears to be mainly nylon, but there is still a 20D polyester option in Charcoal Gray.

I hadn't ever noticed the solid color poly option, but I believe Bushwack Camo has always been poly. All of my quilts are nylon, but either should be fine; just depends on availability and the color you're looking for.
