    Tarp under the tree straps

I have had some troubles hanging my tarps under the tree straps. Over them is esay, but when I want to hang the tarp near to the ridgeline of the hammock my tarp continuous ridgeline touch the the tree straps and I am concern about abrasion.
Is there a way to do it without them touch each other? I'm using continuous ridgeline from Dutch and titanium Dutch clips. Dutch clips most of time twist around the the bark and touch the tree straps when I lay in the hammock.
    Thank you very much

    Tarp under the tree straps

The way I keep them from touching when I drop my tarp is by shifting the tree straps slightly to one side and the tarp ridgeline slightly to the other. my hammock tends to drop a little when I'm in it, so that helps to create some extra space as well.

I wouldn't worry about it. My ridgeline has been touching my tree straps for 10 years and I've noticed no abrasion.

Some people will complain that they can "hear" the ridgeline scraping against the tree straps, but I certainly can't.

You could always use a split ridgeline that makes a "v" for the hammock suspension to hang through. There are a lot of different ways to do it (with hardware or not), but I have Dutch's Singerz on all of my tarps. Like others have said, it would probably take a while to cause damage. I just prefer not to hear the rub.

You should not have this issue if you tie with your lines wrapping around the opposite way around the trees. The suspension should be tangentially aligned with the tree. Just tie the tarp so it is off set to the other side.

I like that method. Plus, it allows the suspension to go right thru the middle if you have doors closed. Otherwise, you're now rubbing on those.

I never really put the tarp ridgeline below the hammock. If I want the tarp really low, I still keep the tarp ridgeline just above the hammock strap on the tree, then use the tension from the 4 guy lines to bring the entire tarp down.

I also use oneclicks suggestion: put the tarp up very slack, then bring it down with the guy lines.

This causes the tarp to take on a more dramatic curve with the tips flared up at the ends.

This is more of a fair weather trick I think. In wet winday weather I will put it down low and tight and use the V trick.
