Took advantage of the nice weather and some vacation time and rode down the cycle track beside the Wimmera River, found some good trees and shook the metaphorical cobwebs off my DIY set up. It's been a long time between hangs! (Hello fellow old timers!)

I also saw a local goanna climb a tree as I was leaving- I'd estimate he/she was over a metre in length and made a racket climbing up the tree just along from me! I actually was commenting to myself that I had seen birds (so many birds), fish in the river, and even a mammal was represented as I saw a farm cat on the other side of the river, but that I hadn't seen any reptiles!
Orange tie down straps are my DIY tree huggers- I appreciated the colour because I nearly forgot them on the tree when packing up!
Blue whoopie slings. One of the few specifically purchased items in my set up, along with orange ridgeline- I'm afraid I've long since forgotten the vendors.
Hammock is made from blue ripstop from spotlight (RIP fabric selection), folded to make a Risk style knotted hammock. Blue tulle also from spotlight as my bugnet- not deployed this trip. Fronkey style bottom entry. Feel like I need to make a slightly bigger double ended stuff sack- it works, but could be a bit bigger for an easier stuff- tulle's slight stiffness makes a good net that doesn't drape onto your face, but this means it's not as well behaved when stuffing.
Blue bike is a 1980s hand me down, which shouldn't do as well on gravel as it does. Detachable front basket! All in all a nice trip.
