Surely you boat can handle the bit of extra weight. But a true UL will never carry a RidgeRunner so you've lost your UL card.

Indeed, the boat can handle the weight...it's the miles of portaging where it's on my shoulders along with the pack that I'm concerned about.

Regardless, will reapply for my UL card.

Just another data point... HF member Just Bill makes and sells some of the lightest custom bridges available, although you have to contact him to discuss your needs and specs, and to place your order. His operation is called Town's End Hammocks and he has a basic website. No integrated net AFAIK, but he has a Fronkey style for his bridges.

I can see how you might want to stick with larger outfits for obtaining gear, although for cutting-edge UL bridges Just Bill is the go-to.

There's probably a thread on reddit on how to re-qualify for your UL card.

Thanks - I've had my eye on Bill for a Bridge for some time, but given that I frequently go up into canoe country (read - land of 10,000 Billion Trillion mosquitoes and black flies) - I need the net, and like the integrated style a lot.

The UL Reddit folks can be brutal - if they are my jury, I might never re-qualify.

Edit- I went back and checked the paperwork from 9 months ago. I did order it in 30D, but I ordered it in Grey.
I never noticed until now, but the one I got is Brown (I had gone back-and-forth on those two colors so just did not connect the dots right away...would have if it had been, say, orange).
So the chance of a Warbonnet mistake on the fabric weight, too, seems high.
If it's actually brown, that would be the 30D fabric. The closest Dream Tex comes to brown is Dark Foliage Green... which might look rather brown under certain lighting conditions.

I have a 30D Ridgerunner and a Dream Tex XLC, and if I recall, the fabrics should be relatively easy to tell apart. I think the regular 30D nylon has a square ripstop pattern, and the 40D Dream Tex has a 4-way ripstop pattern, similar to this (image credit Dutchware for their Hexon 1.6).

Apologies for the slow reply - the photo helps, and would seem to confirm that I have 40D fabric - mystery is likely solved.

Photo attached of my RR fabric...if I can do this correctly...

Yeah, the charcoal grey Dream-Tex looks more like a darker dark olive. You certainly got a Dream-Tex RR.
