    Snow hole - My area had 4'6" deep at camp so I figured I had plenty insulation but the SS bottles may have doomed me. I took the pot (large) in the picture and melted snow by the second night and heated the ice back to water on my second night. If I do it again I have heard and received advice to use nalgane bottle and to use the snow hole with bottle top facing down (water freezes top down).
    I also believe I will heat water and put in nalgane bottle, store in zip lock bag and bag that in a fleece pouch to take in hammock with me.

    Didn't bury the pot but the second night that's what I did. I took a 2 burner Coleman since I Pulked in
