    Yeah, its the sap that matters, not the water.

    On one of my recent adventures i accidentally set up on a tree that was full of oozing sap-filled blisters. The strap looked like i had dragged it through maple syrup. I'm glad i switched to separate straps (and brought a pair of emergency plastic cleaning gloves!)

    Now there's a good argument for using an alcohol stove and bringing some extra fuel!

    Different story for tree sap, for sure, but with damp suspension straps it really doesn't hurt anything to put them in with the hammock.
    Yeah I won't even bother hanging on a sappy tree.
