Yeah apparently he worked with LiteAF to help design this newer version so he would be able to help you for sure.

This was my sentiment exactly. I ended up back with SilPoly to save bulk more than weight. I did like the drum sound of the dcf during a light shower, though.

I just got the LiteAF tarp in a 12 ft green w/doors last night. I only had a chance to look over it briefly but was impressed with the quality of stitching and overall construction. Looking to get a chance to hang it this weekend. If so I will try to post a few pics for those interested. I ordered on Jan 1st and it shipped on 1/13 so the current lead time of 2 weeks listed on the site is pretty much dead on.

Try the DCF. I was a stalwart asym silpoly user for many years. I even had a DCF one for a minute. Then I came into a crazy deal on a DCF with doors and decided to give it a whirl. While my asym was freaking tiny to pack away, I'm a minimalist so even though the DCF is much bigger packability-wise I have plenty of room for it. If you hate it in the end you resell it for little to no loss and then buy an UL hex or have a membrane silpoly with doors built.

Personally, I would hang on to the Silpoly, at least thru a couple of trips. You might find you like the sil for some situations. If not, 6 months waiting shouldn’t hurt your chances of selling it, unless you already know someone willing to make an offer on it.

LiteAF, really? This is version 1.0 of a tarp from a one man shop. You really wanna be the guinea pig? Get a tarp from Hammock Gear or Zpacks.

Bet you $100 the quality from LiteAF will be way better than zpacks.
