Nice saw case. It won’t disappear into the undergrowth. As mentioned there are techniques to hide the stitching but hey this is a field case for a saw. Get some pitch on it and toss it in the mud a few times then coat liberally with “Man Glitter” and you won’t care about the stitching.

Welcome to the DIY club. I’m still considering having my paycheck direct deposited to RSBTR.

For sure! All my stuff is black...like EVERYTHING. Digging black gloves, hats, accessories out of a black backpack is just getting annoying. Time to mix it up, at least a little.

While I was packing last night, I realized the massive stakes I'll be using for the first time are HUGE and heavy. I have a lot since it will be for my hot tent.

I'm really understanding the convenience of having fabric and a sewing machine on hand. I just stopped packing right then, grabbed some leftover fabric and threw this together pretty quick (for me). Maybe 30 minutes. I even "hid" the velcro stitching inside this time opposed to the saw case posted earlier.

I love this 600D fabric. I'm going to order some hunter green and gray since the red gear is adding up. But it's such a great color!

Looks familiar and it turned out great. That material should easily take the abuse! I ran into the same issue with my hot tent stakes too, so I had Jared from SLD (maker of my hot tent) make me something similiar.

If I recall, I think my stake bag weighs in at close to 4 pounds. Was thinking of trying alluminum gutter spikes, but I don't think they'll hold up in the frozen ground.

I know I could get by with 7" Y stakes I have, pounding them in carefully is no problem. Pour warm water on them to get out. But these give more to hook on to and should come out easier. If I still have to use some water, no big deal. I'd rather do that than risk breaking the green part by pulling too hard.
