    Smile What-ho from the UK!

    Hi folks,

I thought it was about time I briefly introduced myself and take a more active roll in HF.

I expect I'm in the minority, being over here in the UK, where hammocking really isn't such a big thing as in the US. I've been a tent camper for many years, but hanging has been my preferred choice since first discovering Shug's videos and Derek Hansen's book a few years ago.

My professional background is in photography (almost 18 years as a pro) and business coaching, with a specialism of working with lifestyle / outdoors individuals and brands. Camping has been a part of this, as you might imagine, and you will find me in my hammock every week, in all weathers. This isn't the place to elaborate about my work life, but I'm sure more of that will come in conversation out over time

Really looking forward to getting to know you and being a part of the community.

Interested to see who else we have here from the UK, too!

@Shug Don't talk about Flake's they used to be the size of a fallen redwood, now they are tiny sticks of chocolate (not even real chocolate I might add) barely larger than your pinkie. Shrinkflation is getting ridiculous over here. I boycotted Cadbury's 20 years ago - they can stick their products up their walnut whip hole.

P.S. I just checked and it was actually 30 years ago that they renamed Marathon bars to Snickers. How time flies...seems like only yesterday that I stopped buying Cadbury's products. Veg fat 'chocolate' doesn't do it for me either so that helps me stick with my boycott. In 2003 EU courts caved in and over turned the 1973 EU directive banning cocoa butter substitutes, such as vegetable fats and milk from being used in the manufacturing of chocolate. The EU couldn't even get that decision right. It looks like that directive could make a resurgence if the Brexit vote is ever honoured. As much as I hate the EU I agree with their opinion on what constitutes real chocolate. It seems perfectly logical to stop manufactures using the word 'chocolate' on products that do not conform to the true ingredients of real chocolate. *end rant*

Having experienced American chocolate I have to concede the Flake is a better choice. There must be Swiss and Belgian brands in America? Afaik they don't produce any chocolate that contains the junk found in products made by Cadbury's and Hershey's et al.
