Plenty of options for quick deployment of a tarp instead of suboptimizing with special material that's not made to be similar to a Superfly. Stingers on RL that can be unclipped and clipped back to deploy, and loops on stakes to leave in place in the ground and connect lines with mini biners. Or some version of that.

A clear tarp, or white cuben, would just get me up earlier in the a.m., and who wants that?

Ridge Outdoor Gear has a tarp with a window. I have no experience with it. Just throwing it out there. Seems like a simple diy modification to an existing tarp if you can find the right material.

I'm thinking about using a clear shower curtain liner for a window eventually...stay tuned.

You could also check the companies that make the sails for sail-boarding. The material they use is completely transparent and durable but I can't speak to its weight.

This ^^^^^ works for me. Nice to be able to throw the tarp over when you want to sleep and a full moon is shining bright.
