I might be able to make this - I'm not 100% sure what my class schedule is for the 3rd (I'm either done around noon, or around 5).

But if it's possible I'll definitely try to make the trip.

Planning to attend as my first hang (though its too soon to be certain)! Trying to get into hammock camping and gain some hands-on knowledge of gear choices, etc, so I can make some wise purchase decisions.

Not much of a cook, but happy to contribute food, etc.

If you need or want to borrow any gear, let me know. I am a rep for Walhalla Hammocks, Sierra Madre, and Tensa Outdoor.

Oh wow, that would be fantastic! My friend and I both have "starter hammocks" and I have a DIY underquilt (PLUQ) and a cheapo tarp, but that's all we have at present. Tough to know what the weather will be like at that time, but I imagine if we need anything it'll be insulation. That's a big question that we have is what is the smart way to invest in top/bottom insulation since the weather is usually warm for most of the year for us down here, but some of the time we really want to utilize the hammocks, it could be down in the high teens. We want to have 1 top/bottom quilt set that can be supplemented in the cold weather rather than having to purchase a whole other quilt set for such a short period of time. I am interested in all suggestions, especially those that are budget minded (we're family men).

Have to figure a way to cook something. Don't have a dutch oven but I have old school camp stoves. Have to think on it.

After double-checking my class schedule didn't get changed on me, it looks like my last class of the day Friday ends at 12:20, and I might be able to skip that one so I could leave after my 8:00 am class is out.

What is the weather usually like around that time?

I will have extra insulation. As for what to get, I know people that use a 0 underquilt almost year round. I can discuss this with you in more detail at the hang. WAY to many options and variables. Some of it is just personal preference.
