PappyAmos our beloved Old Pro, will not be at Spring 2020 Yates. He is recovering from a broken right humerus bone. Sometime later this spring, we hope his doctor will clear him for beginning physical therapy. Also his wife Beth will have her knee replacement surgery which has been postponed until Pappy is ready to care for her as she cared for him
Gonna miss the man cooking bodacious breakfasts for hungry hammockers

PappyAmos, when you return to Yates, I’m gonna give you the bizness to welcome you back and to make sure your doctor did not remove your quick wit while in hospital

And we all hope KingsFord is free of pain and as comfortable as can be while in a serious situation with stomach cancer.
It seems like yesterday when Hotlips&Kingsford hosted multiple Hangs at Falls Lake and other lakeside camping trips as well as being Old Pros at Yates and Medoc Mountain

NC Yates Hang 5-8 March 2020

We will have a Knot Fast Un-Tie Contest
You will need two tree straps and some amsteel
You will Tie your straps to tree and Tie your amsteel to to straps making a line between two trees. We will weight your line, by standing on it, to test for slipping
If it slips to ground, you are out.
On the word Go, everyone will Un-Tie their knots. First one untied wins
    No hardware allowed
Ok to use marlin spike, as in marlin spike hitch.

I went to a scout camp out recently to show them some hammock basics and better ways of setting up, (man the amount of para cord and how they used it was something else!) and also brought my hammocks for show and tell. I realized that I have quite a few distinctly different hammocks. If anyone is interested in trying something out before purchasing a new one just PM me and just say what you had in mind and I can respond to that. Most are not gathered end.

Straps must be attached to trees using knots.
And strap can’t be passed through it’s end loop.

Knives or axes, Hickery, you got me laughing!
