New Here - Eastern PA Checking In!

    Hey everybody,

Just wanted to pop in here now that my account is verified and say hey! I've been hiking and backpacking for sever years but I'm new to the hammocking world and have been creeping around here the past few weeks and have already learned a ton of what I want to buy and how to use it. I recently ordered myself a Dutchware Chameleon in burnt orange with a Charcoal Grey moonlight top cover, can't wait for it to show up!

Thanks for all the help already without even knowing your doing it!

    - Chris

Welcome from Kennet Square, PA. Used to live in Kutztown and went to school in Berks and Lehigh counties!

Is there anywhere close to the Lehigh Valley you would recommend I could do some backpacking? Need something relatively close to home with a simple park / walk in / walk back out strategy.

In the Lehigh valley itself backpacking is pretty limited. If you can drive a little farther (45 minutes to an hour) outside of the valley the Delaware Water Gap has awesome backpacking. Tons of trails, water sources and backpacking camps...I spent most of my time on the Appalachian Trail.

Thanks, that’s what I recall. I used to do some AT up by Pottsville out to Hawk Mtn area but in and out isn’t legal there since it’s state game lands. Has to be a through hike so to speak.

I've done some of the North Loop on the Pinchot, loved it! Thinking of potentially doing the whole thing sometime this year. Big fan of loops in the 20-25 mile range that I can do in a few days. Have you hiked the whole thing?

It is a great local hike. I’ve done the Northern loop too many times to count and the Sothern one a few times.
