I might be in for a night or two. I need an excuse to burn in the new hot tent stove and this is my only open weekend in Jan.

Wish I could make it and finally meet you, Riverjoe. Never been to the Manistee in the winter. Enjoy your weekend in the woods and if you still need a fix of a Michigan winter, GT is the 3rd weekend in February.

We’ve been dancing around about three or four years now Dave . Camp Casey and I been talking about GT but worried about parking .
If I do come it may be unannounced so you can’t avoid me this time .

I have been running Camp Casey's old Knico for a couple years but just picked up a Winnerwell Fastfold Titanium. Trying to lighten the load and reduce the bulk in the pulk.

Don't worry about parking. People can always meet up and carpool in from Mill Street Pizza in Vanderbilt. Or, if we have light snow, Hare Road is an option. You can always use the GT lot and double park. Just make sure to note what car you're blocking and let us know in camp.

They'll be hot coffee and a fire waiting for you, Joe!

Ahah now I know who you are . I remember that stove .
I’ve been trying to get below 50 pounds gross weight this year . I might have to shoot for 25 kilos .
My big problem has been my huge cocoon based on a couple of M1949 sleeping bags .
Trying out a lightweight under quilt this year .

    Dave ,
Probably will attend the GT then . I’ll have to study the topos first to make sure I can handle the hike .
